Here's the scripture for today:
25 “There will be signs in the sun, the moon, and the stars, and on the earth distress among nations confused by the roaring of the sea and the waves. 26 People will faint from fear and foreboding of what is coming upon the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27 Then they will see ‘the Son of Man coming in a cloud’ with power and great glory. 28 Now when these things begin to take place, stand up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”
HOPE:
I've got to tell you, I'm feeling pretty un-hopeful these days. Largely because, more than ever, the scripture resembles the world we live in. I believe the Black Dog of depression is sleeping at my bedside (funny because in reality the White Dog of Josie really sleeps there too).
But, one of the Major Truths I know is "fake it til you make it." So here goes.
About a month ago I divided my irises and replanted them. I was stunned to see new growth from those dead-looking potatoey things...amazing!
We had a cold, rainy Thanksgiving and a light freeze last week. Yet, this morning when I went to put the trash out, here's what I saw:
Those irises have hope.
