SingingOwl over at RevGals offers this New Year's Friday Five:
I'm not a big fan of New Year's resolutions, but it does seem a good time for some reflection and planning. For the last few days I keep thinking of Psalm 90:12 So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom. Among other things, that seems to say that reflection is in order if we want to learn and grow.
For some of us, this has been an incredibly difficult year; for others it has been a year of many joys. For all of us, there have been challenges and questions and there have been blessings and--maybe even an answer or two! As we say our goodbyes to 2010 and look towards 2011, share with us five blessings from 2010 along with five hopes or dreams for 2011.
Blessings
1) My new job and the opportunity to work closely with my colleagues in new ways...a huge blessing.
2) A great counselor who helps me see my part in tricky situations and challenges me to be a bigger person as I confront them.
3) My husband. Our relationship continues to grow and that is a good thing.
4) My family...near and far.
5) The Episcopal WordsMatter project, for which I became a trainer in December.
Hopes/Dreams
1) That my staycation's work on decluttering the house will stick and I will keep with it...in baby steps.
2) I hope I can also continue the slow work of getting healthier and healing this shoulder malady.
3) That I can go to LA for my nephew's wedding in May and finally meet up with Presbyterian Gal...
4) That the people of the world (including me) can learn not to panic over every "bad news" story they hear, and that hope may reign in our hearts.
5) That the year improves for so many I love, including those who have struggled with unemployment.
