but most especially, my dear friend and colleague, Valerie.
I sat in my not-packed office this morning wishing I could crawl into a file drawer and stay there. She came in, looked at me, and said, "I'm going to help you."
Note that HER office and the rest of the office has been packed for days now. All due to her excellent organizational skills and utter LACK of procrastinationism.
Did I make a snarky comment here or there, back then in the last weeks? Maybe. I'm sorry. Mea maxima culpa.
The packing help was wonderful; more so was the company. Every time I threw away something instead of keeping it, she would say, "Yay for you!" (Is this sounding familiar, Mom?)
So now I have the top of my desk (a big mass of papers) to sort, a few random things, and several boxes of personal items that I need to take home but that won't fit into my car today.
Otherwise...it is finished. Of course I have four more days to work, and the idea of doing it in this denuded space is making me crazy...but I'll just have to deal with it. It's EVER so much more palatable than the idea of being here until midnight on the last day of work!
I'm tired.
That's all!
