I've been referring to my Far West Sister and my Near West Sister. The qualifiers are regarding their proximity to ME...not how far west in Texas they live. None of us are anywhere NEAR to "Far West Texas."
Completing the series from my Far West sister, here is the Fantastic Nephew. His mom says: "Saxon looks like he's being mauled by a goat - but actually, he's helping the goat get to the leaves on the hackberry tree."

(Baseball Playing Nephew hollering in the background.) This is at their house in town (yes, really!) As is this one.
They live in town during the school-week and go to their ranch home (which is WAY ranchy) on the weekends.
My Near West Sister, I don't have any pictures of. She also lives in the countryside. When I was there last weekend, her three big (BIG!) wild dogs got out (my fault) and RAN to the neighbor's house. We were both running like maniacs, and trying to catch them (hahahaha) and she was yelling, "Don't let Jasper kill a chicken! He's a chicken killer!" The neighbor's yard was full of chickens, turkeys (really!) and I think guinea hens.
AS. IF. ! I could stop any of those dogs from doing anything at that point! It only took us 20 minutes or so to catch the lunging beasts. OMG.
OK, and I do live in Texas, but it's ever so much more a town existence. My dogs are Maltese, and if they met a chicken they would be smaller than it. The cat, now...
I have no goats or other livestock (except we think there's a raccoon in the attic)...
There is no cactus in my yard. But there are birds and roses and trees!
There are donkeys at the Cumberland Presbyterian Children's Home down the road.
We have a candidate in town, whom I picked up at the airport yesterday and gave a short tour of the city before taking to her hotel. It's fun to see your town through the eyes of a new person.
Where do you live?
