Just come from Easter Vigil...a glorious time.
We started in darkness; the new flame was kindled and the Paschal candle lit and blessed.
Looking down on the congregation with their lit candles: what a wave of love and gratitude for every single one.
Some lights come on. The Old Testament readings. The Baptism of a charming and wiggly young man (probably 18 months old?) and then ALL the lights come up, and the Christus Rex is there and illuminated; it has been hidden from our sight for 40 long days.
Hallelujah Chorus, a soprano duet, gloriousness.
Eucharist brought to the loft by my favorite subdeacon; that means so much.
Widor's Toccata to close.

This has been a tough Lent, but things are looking up. And the service sees me in a good place...this is unlike the last two years, where Lent was ok but Easter, not so much. I am grateful to have been through those times to fully appreciate the beauty this year.
I am grateful to have been to the doctor and gotten THE MIRACLE SHOT ... I feel 150% better than yesterday! I am conserving my voice because throat is still very sore.
I don't really feel grateful to have been sick, but it's a good lesson in listening to my body: when I enter a location that has such a strong odor that my sinuses start to scream, I need to get out of there.
Blessings on your Easter Days!
