Are you familiar with the Seven Straight Nights For Equal Rights Campaign?
It is "a coordinated campaign of evening events that will sweep across major American cities during the week of October 7 - 13, 2007. In each participating state, straight citizens will collectively and publicly demonstrate their support for gay family, friends, and neighbors, and urge political leaders at all levels to reflect that support in public policy." (from the website).
So far my state only has 2 cities listed, and they are not mine. I'm going to see if I can change that.
