- New boss has been here a week. Things look good.
- Bois d'arc fruits falling all over the driveway. We make a game of bowling them down the driveway and seeing if we can get them to cross all the way over the street and BOUNCE! up against the far curb and into the vacant lot. You have to be careful of fast moving bicylists; once Ken pegged someone by mistake.
- You don't know bois d'arcs? We pronounce it "bowdark." Here is one for your interest:
- The fruits are also called horse apples or hedge apples...the wood is called Osage Orange. If you want to read a lot of info about them, you can do it here.
- Squirrels eat bois d'arcs and then they get kind of drunk...
- If you leave them in the driveway and run over them they get SO NASTY. (not squirrels, though they would be nasty too.)
- I am reading my husband all this info about bois d'arcs and distracting him from the post he is writing on Parking Lot Planet forum (his version of a blog community). Too bad!! :)
- In non bois d'arc news, I'm off to a stewardship team meeting at church.
- I would rather poke out my eye with a stick, but I am devoted to the idea that everyone should pledge, even if it's only $5 a week. And I better show up if I'm going to go around saying that...right?
- God poked me in the back of the head when I read about this team luncheon in the newsletter and said, "Okay, missy, there you go." I had to laugh.
