We just got Verizon FiOS yesterday. It's a package that includes our phones (which were already on Verizon) plus TV and internet.
Our growing expectations of technology and its incremental growth mean that it's rare anymore for me to say WOW. (I can remember the first time I saw a fax machine work - I thought it was MAGIC!) I can remember when we had to use Telexes, before faxes were available. Yes, kids, I can remember when there were 3 TV stations and you had to get up to change the channel!
Back to the changes...Internet speed has gone from 3 meg to 15 meg. Ken is over at his computer watching YouTube and saying, "This is just unbelievable!" It appears lightning fast! Videos load before they play - not as and after. Sites load instantly (or what seems that way).
We also have HDTV on two of our TV's and now we can see...umm...more than you wanted to, in some cases! We saw a guy on a sports show yesterday who looked EMBALMED, he was so made up. Older guy. Not flattering.
An amazing amount of channels, and free on-demand shows. Wonder how long it will be before Ken is fussing that there is "nothing on TV"?
I'm off to church now, to remember what I already knew. When I come home - zippo - back into the information age!
