Here are some weird technology observations:
1) my hotel room key kept blanking out. Today when I got it re-coded for the 3rd time, the man at the front desk mentioned I ought to keep it away from my cell phone. Uhhhh.....good info since I had been keeping them together in the same little pocket!
2) I am using a UNT laptop. The time is not set correctly on it. Here in Miami it is 5:20 p.m.; at home in Texas it is 4:20 p.m.; on the clock of the laptop, it is 2:22 p.m. That's okay. What is weird is that on my GroupWise calendar, every single one of my appointments has shifted itself TWO hours early. So 6:30 p.m. Weds. night choir rehearsal now shows as 4:30. Student meetings at 8:30 a.m. come out at 6:30 a.m. (NOT!) Wonder if it will all go back to normal later?
3) I am desperately trying to get Ken's company paid for two BIG jobs that we did for Big Ole Contractor. The bigger they are, the harder they are to get $$ from. Well, these folks take the prize: they have their own online payment application system, and you have to login there and fill out the payment app. Apparently everyone in the construction industry can do this with no trouble, but Ken and I with our master's degrees and decent computer exposure CANNOT. We may never see this money. Sigh.
