On the Mend

Happy to say I am back to work full time.  The oral Levaquin I am taking to follow up what I had in the hospital is tearing up my insides, but I only have a few more days on it. 

It's so beautiful outside!  I always think that maybe God gave me an extra present, because he put my birthday at the most beautiful time of the year (in North Texas!)  My yard has blossoms of quince, redbud, tulip, iris, dianthus, some white bulb-type flowers I don't know WHAT they are....plus my oaks are leafing out and the hostas just coming back. 

Somebody somewhere is burning popcorn in a microwave.  Man, that is the WORST smell in the world! 

My parents are looking for retirement homes.  They were in town today looking at the Denton Good Samaritan Village, but unfortunately it is more expensive than the place they have found in San Angelo (near my sister).  I am so disappointed.  But they have promised to come visit me a lot. 

I'm Baack!

Well, we had a great time at the lake in our RV the week of March 14 - 18.  More to follow about that, but I am still unpacking and getting things sorted out from the trip (where'd that camera go!?)

BECAUSE, upon returning home, I developed a bad case of "?-itis" which was either a bug bite or poison ivy on my left thigh (rear end).  It quickly turned into a nasty infection that kept me in bed all the next week.  I went to the doctor 4 times, had 2 shots and 4 different prescriptions, to no avail.  They finally decided it was a staph infection (!!!) and put me in the hospital on Good Friday, where I spent Easter weekend having IV's of antibiotics and Demerol, woo hoo! 

Demerol is very interesting, because I would be reading my book and realize that it was about another topic entirely!  or I would have my eyes closed and be reading a book!  what a great trick.  I recognize it from having been in the hospital with others (my mom & sister) but it was a new experience for me.  My first time to spend a night in hospital other than when I was born. 

I'm home now and moving kind of slow (like Uncle Joe at the Junction) but back to work tomorrow!

Getting Ready for a Break!

Spring Break is next week!  Can't wait.  We are taking the RV to Lake Ray Roberts and hang around.  Come see us!
