My stepdaughter Holley came to visit this weekend. It was fun, but Ken and I were still both sick, so we weren't very entertaining hosts. However, Holley and Brandon went out bowling together & I'm sure they painted the town red!
Yesterday was a vacation day, thanks to the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. I must say that I didn't do anything observant of his great legacy yesterday. But I did consider it a great deal. I finished a book by Muhammad Ali called The Soul of a Butterfly by Ali and his daughter Hana. It was very thought-provoking about his philosophy, and about the United States' progress toward peace and justice for all.
While I was out doing errands, I tried to buy Ken some pants. How frustrating! Apparently he is either a really popular size or a really weird size; very hard to find. I ended up going to the Wal-Mart Super Center :P which I found extremely stressful. I stood in line thinking, "God is in all these people! God loves all these people at least as much as he loves me, and maybe more!" It helped a little bit.
Off I go to mail the estimated tax check. Phew! Good to have that done.
