Here's the Friday Five from RevGals:
What five characters would you switch places with for a day? I initially read this to mean characters in books, but hey...you can use plays, movies, comic strips, cartoons, anything you'd like. For bonus points, tell us WHY for each or some.
I would love to be Betsy Ray
I liked the little-girl Betsy in Maud Hart Lovelace's Betsy Tacy Tib stories, but oh, I LOVED the teenage and young woman Betsy. LOVED HER. And that Joe Willard, what a hunk. :) I wanted to live in Deep Valley and compete in the essay contest and eat onion sandwiches on Sundays and marry Joe. And, perhaps most of all, I wanted to wear a princesse-style dress. (I still have hope.)

I was stunned to read in Wendy McClure's The Wilder Life that she used to imagine that Laura Ingalls was with her, and she was explaining modern things to this little girl from the prairie.
And that other people have told her that they did it, too! I absolutely did that. I have a vivid memory of telling my mother I was doing that, one night when she checked in on me in bed. Was there subliminal messaging in those Little House books, or what? Anyway, I'd like to have been Laura, but just briefly. She had a hard time. (My imaginings are from the books...not the TV series...which is a whole other thing.)

In a departure from the above, I also want to be Zoe Washburn from Firefly, played by the wonderful Gina Torres. Zoe kicks butt, plain and simple. She is strong and tough and is also happily married.

Okay, brace yourself. You might not like this, a lot.
Elmo, I want to be Elmo.
Because, who has more fun than Elmo!? and who cares less about what people think about him? NOBODY, that's who! Elmo is just happy and fun and silly, and he loves people. ("Elmo loves you!") Of course, I never had a child of Elmo-age, but I had a niece and nephews who were. It was perfect because we could watch Sesame Street and sing Elmo's Song, but then I could go home and not hear him 24/7. And when someone stepped on Tickle Me Elmo in the middle of the night in the dark living room, scaring the bejesus out of them, that someone was not me.

Yes, and I'd like to be Harry Potter.
Because, do I really have to explain?
