RAIN. Lots of rain. Of the 14 days so far this month, they say only 2 have been sunny.
SINUS. Lots of sinus. Pressure and pain. Finally gave in and went to doctor yesterday. My own doc was booked, CareNow took 5 hrs. to get to me, prescription took 3 hrs. to get filled. I have Augmentin (egads) and cough syrup with codeine (!) I can't sing, I can't think, sometimes I can't sit up straight. But at least I don't have flu...
SICK PEOPLE. Lots and lots and LOTS of sick people around here. Regular flu, H1N1 flu, stomach virus, colds. I am assiduously opening doors with paper towels and coating myself with hand sanitizer.
DOGS. The dogs like to sleep with us when it rains! Last night Ken had a Two-Dog, One-Cat night.
CAR. My car is still not fixed! But I went by the shop yesterday to try to get my phone cord out of it, and it was on the lift. That has to be a good sign...right?
FOUNDATION. Our Old House is on a pier and beam foundation...the first ever for me. Our plumbing sprang a baaaad leak a few years ago and made a lake under the house...and now the house is cattywhampus in places. This freaks me out, but Ken assures me it is entirely normal. He has told me that he can fix it himself; his dad fixed their house on 4th Street in Corsicana. So last night I offered to help Ken fix the foundation. He found this extremely funny, but I was not kidding. However, now I'm wondering if it's like the time Sarah and I decided that we would re-shingle our parents' home. Ahahahahahahaha! That was pretty rich.
PARTIES. Ice cream sundae party on Saturday (for exchange students) went well, if lightly attended. Another ice cream party is planned for this workplace on Friday to get rid of the leftovers. The MOTORCYCLE PARTY is scheduled for the 21st, when a bunch of bikers on their way to the Sparks America Halloween Rally show up for brisket and beer.
HOT TUB. Hot tub works well. If it'd stop raining truckloads of sloppy rain, it'd be a lot nicer to sit in.
So, overall, things are good. I am tired but things are good. And Christmas is coming! And that's got to be good, right?
