If you stop trying to let go of something, and question it instead, maybe it will let go of you. (Byron Katie) Working on my family tree on Ancestry.com. I am somewhat of the family historian (in that I am quite interested and ended up with many important items like family Bibles, with records inside.) We talked about this at the reunion, and I passed around a sheet that I'd done on Family Tree software back in 2002 - can it really have been SO long since I touched this?! I guess so. Now I've got 1131 relatives listed (including quite a few from my husband's family). My husband has people in his family with the Christian names of "Meaney" and "Love Light." I have a lot of family from The Netherlands, which I didn't know. A lot from England, which I did know. Also some from Wales, Scotland, Italy, Denmark...still working, will keep you posted! There are supposedly a Portuguese and a Native American in there too. A family reunion for Ken's family coming up in September! Yay! I am hot and sticky and I can't get cool! Thanks be for A/C! Fortunately I will soon be taking a wee vacation: a long weekend in Maine with Songbird, Light Princess, Pure Luck, and the Sam Dog & cats. Can't wait. Looking forward to a few meetups while there. Have to go back to office tonight for an orientation. In the meantime, making Cajun 10 bean soup & cornbread for Ken. He was out working today and got too hot...he is sleeping now. Sigh. I so wish he could find a cooler job. But, for all the stresses of running a company, the horizon of being his own boss would be near-impossible to return from.
