A very dog's eye view of the Blessing of the Animals. I was sitting on the ground with my two pups because they have an unfortunate tendency to say "howdy" to big big dogs by snarling and rushing them. I sat down I would have more control (or an impression thereof). So you get a lot of shots of legs...and bums. (Sorry, folks).
Here you can see dogs waiting in line for the asperging team to come round
Here is Tracy! our youth minister
Procession going by us. You can see James (bald, blue shirt) holding the aspersorium (what the holy water is in). Fr. David is in front of him, blessing the pets with holy water with the aspergillum.
Here are Boudreaux and the back of Josie next to our memorial bricks in the courtyard. This one for Ken's parents & brother.
We had a parishioner take professional photos, and of course I ordered some. I had a little time between the blessing and the 1:00 choir rehearsal, so we WENT IN THE CAR to Sonic and came back. Sweet E., one of our EYC'ers, had agreed to babysit the dogs during rehearsal. I made a donation to their mission trip fund in return.
I had to leave rehearsal before it was quite over...I had a sitter (and her dad!) waiting for me. A new one on me! Brandon was old enough to babysit himself, and also had a mom's house to go to, when he was young.
