It is time once again for Pantipalooza! This is the Valentine invention of my wonderful blogfriend Mindy and is a way for us to share love and care and a little extra something nice, like: pretty panties! with our friends who are in dire straits.
This includes women in homeless shelters, safe houses, etc. It need not be panties per se, but something that the woman is probably not going to be able to supply for herself. This could include body spray, good-quality shampoos, etc....pampering type things. Delivery to be on Valentine's Day!
Mindy suggests that we call our local shelter or other facility and ask what would be useful/needed. I'm off to do that now and will let you know what I plan to do!
Together, we can make life so much sweeter than when we are alone!
ps: and here is the coolest quote ever, from Mindy. If I were smart enough to actually work with my Typelists (sidebar content) I'd put it there so it would stay all the time.
**Any woman who sews or knits or weaves blends colors in a tapestry or creates a patchwork quilt, knows by the feel that a single thread is weak. But the weaving, the blending, the intertwining with many others makes it strong. Any woman alone without friends to sustain her, to nurture and support, to hold with loving arms, like a single thread is weak. But the weaving, the loving, the nurturing of others, the networks of friendships make her strong.** Barbara 1994 The Kinship of Women
